Daniel Barreto is the co-founder and CEO of Haystack TV, the next generation TV news platform for cord cutters. Haystack TV builds a personalized headline news channel for each user by analyzing thousands of news videos each day and correlating them against the user’s interests.
Haystack TV is a launch partner for Google’s Android TV platform and was recently featured by Google in a case study describing its successful Chromecast integration. Haystack TV was recently chosen as a winner at Twitter’s first startup competition for its innovative approach to delivering news. The service is available on smartphones, tablet and smart TVs.
Daniel is an entrepreneur and inventor with over 50 patents and patent applications. He teaches at Stanford University where he started a new graduate class focused on disruptive technologies and the latest trends in IT. Prior to Haystack TV, Daniel was the Chief Software Architect at Wyse Technology. He helped establish Wyse’s leadership in cloud computing, which resulted in the company being acquired by Dell Inc in 2012. Daniel holds M.S. and PhD degrees from Stanford University and a B.S degree from Purdue University.
